Lluvonia Graham

Lluvonia has been crafting her words into art since she first learned to write. As a child, she vividly remembers watching her mother  journal, an image that remains etched in her mind. As she grew older, Lluvonia began to write about her surroundings and the inner turmoil she faced as a young woman. Motivated to express herself, she turned to poetry and started performing at spoken word events in major Texas cities such as Houston and Austin. In addition to writing, Lluvonia also spends time in the studio bringing life to the words on her pages. Her writings cover a range of topics, including love, hate, and women’s sensuality. During a question-and-answer session after a show, someone asked Lluvonia why she writes the way she does and how she selects her topics. She replied that language is alive and we should always breathe life into the words we think and speak. As women, this personifies our power, and as individuals, it celebrates our uniqueness.
